About
In the late 18th century, Belper was the nail-making centre of Britain, with over 500 nailers working around the town. The Nailmaster of Belper, Abram Harrison, built himself a grand house on a small farm between Jedediah Strutt's mill village and the town of Belper, and this house, originally called Field House, is now known as The Cedars.
We offer several spacious, tastefully decorated and most comfortable bedrooms, some with fine views, and all with TV, tea and coffee facilities, etc etc: There is a pleasant guests' lounge and dining room , with inglenook and woodstove, also with colour TV and video for guests' use, and you are welcome to wander the half-acre gardens and to take tea - or even breakfast! - on the flag stoned terrace. For our business guests, we provide a FAX and photocopying service, telephone lines and Email service by arrangement. We are proud to have been awarded English Tourist Council Four Diamond Quality Grading.
