About

This characterful and tastefully-appointed barn conversion stands in a commanding position overlooking scenic Carsington Water, adjoining a similar property but with completely separate access. It's on the quiet outskirts of the stone-built Peak District village of Hopton, and is simply ideal for the larger family party seeking a high quality base for exploring the Peak National Park.

Spacious beamed lounge with featured beamed open fireplace with woodstove, second stairs to 1st floor, french door to garden, lake views, and through doors to panelled sun-lounge/garden room -this has a cloakroom with toilet & basin off.
Stone entrance porch leading into tiled & beamed hall, with principal stairs to 1st floor, and with cloakroom with toilet & basin off. Twin bedroom off hallway. Two steps up to beamed and tiled farmhouse-style dining kitchen, with spacious pantry, utility room, and boiler/boot-room off, and garden access.

Bedrooms
1st floor: No 1. - Large King sized with exposed beams; No 2. - Single; No 3. - Twin, with exposed beams & cruck-frame; No 4. - Master/family [en-suite] King size , with double doors leading to large dressing room having fitted wardrobes and twin beds, more suited to children; there is an adjoining luxury bathroom.

Bedrooms 1, 2, 3, and 4 all have splendid lake views.

Bathrooms
1st floor: No 1. - Master bathroom with toilet, basin, bidet, shower tap over raised platform bath; No 2. - Bathroom with toilet, shower bidet & basin adjoining Bedroom No 4;

Watersports feature prominently in the area and dinghies canoes and windsurfers can be hired at Carsington watersports centre. Day tickets are available for trout fishing including boat hire if required. A bird watchers' paradise, there are many hides strategically sited around the lake. The house is in an excellent position for cyclists (cycle hire available) or ramblers to take advantage of the many trails and all the striking scenery of the southern Peak National Park
The historic lead-mining, market-town of Wirksworth is but a few minutes drive, and offers good shopping, and a fine visitor centre. Ashbourne (the Gateway to Dovedale) is six miles away, with swimming pool and beautiful park. It is ideal for shopping or browsing, having four supermarkets, speciality shops and a tourist information office.
The country towns of Matlock, Buxton and Bakewell are easy to reach, Chatsworth is a short drive away and children will love the Crich Tramway Village, American Adventure Theme Park, Gulliver's Kingdom, Midland Railway Centre (look out for Thomas!!) - and the ever-popular Alton Towers (25 mins).
